Wishing Rocks
2020 - 2023
Collecting wish rocks (a stone that has a line that wraps fully around) was a childhood pastime in the Pacific Northwest - we would find a stone close our eyes and throw it back into the Sound making a wish.
During 2020 I was quarantined on my families land close to the Canadian border for six months as I recovered from surgery - for six months I collected 370 wish rocks and brought them all back to New York in a carry-on I could hardly lift above my head. "Wishing for the Moon" contains 30 wishing rocks from the PNW and the only stone in the 35 piece series from New York - a perfect moon stone with a wishing line.
There is a line that connects us from one place to another - each stone making the wish stronger - may these pieces bring powerful wishes into the world from each line that connect them to us.
